Jump... shake... bend your knees!
We're really looking forward to a special theatre trip next week: we're going to see Theatre Sans Frontiers perform 'La Chanson du Retour'. This will be the first time we've EVER seen a play in French - and it's been organised for us by our cluster Modern Foreign Languages team, with loads of help from our local Secondary school (The Wensleydale School), where we'll see it performed.
In order to make the most of the experience, we're learning as many of the songs as we can - we've been listening to them in assembly, and practising them in class. Today we had a go at developing a dance routine to go with a song called Saute... Secoue, to help us remember the words.
Here's what we had to do in 1 HOUR:
- Listen to the song
- Learn one line from the song
- Devise a routine for our line in a small group
- Practice our routine, then teach it to another group
- Get together in a larger group to put all our lines together
- Practice a routine for the whole song...
- Perform it to the class!
We found it really hard to sing, dance AND remember the words in French... but we like a challenge!
Can you work out what the words mean from our actions?
